Callaway Gardens Fantasy in Lights, Christmas Eve, 1999
David's parents and sister came to Atlanta to visit us during Christmas. The eight of us went to Callaway Gardens to see the famous Fantasy in Lights show. It was the coldest night in 1999; the temperature was 25F. We all bundled up really well and brought several blankets to ride on the open air Jolly Trolley. Before the ride, we went to the Butterfly Garden, and we had great time with the friendly butterflies. After dark, we got on the trolley. There were more than 2 million lights arranged in several different themes, and they are just beautiful and fantastic. The stop at the Sibley Center was amazing. Many indoor plants and flowers were arranged and decorated to celebrate the last Christmas in the century. The ride was definitely worth the cold. After the ride, we went to the Christmas village. Santa, Reindeer, and the snowman came to greet us. Jane had fun touching the reindeer's nose to make it light up, but she did not want to have anything to do with the snowman or Santa.
